There was this one time me and my buddy went up to go into a big cave that was on our property. My oldest sister had just gave me a dog a few days before and I guess it wanted in on the adventure, cause it followed us up there. After a little hiking we got up to the cave. We went in and that dog ran ahead. A little ways in, there was a ledge drop off. It was a good 6 foot drop. We could jump down in there but climbing back out was a little rough so I tied a rope to a big rock that was in there to give assistance. The dog was barking something fierce as we got there. He was throwing a fit, growling and barking. We couldn't see anything with our lights so I started to jump down in there. He leaped off that ledge and ran ahead growling. Then turned and came back and started growling at me. He didn't want me in there. I jumped down and when I tried to pick him up to hoist him up to the ledge he would snap at me. That little feller was throwin a fit. I got the feeling that we might aughta go, so I shimmied up that wall and we high tailed outta there. After we got back home, I got worried about Hobo. Thats what we had named the little feller. I figured, I'd get Pap to come back with us and get him out when he got home from work. After a while though, Hobo showed up. It just amazed me, that little dog jumped or climbed back up that 6 foot high wall.
After pondering on it a day or two, ya know, I don't think he jumped or climbed back up. I think he had help. Somebody had to be in that cave and he didn't want us in there. Then after we left, they helped the little guy outta there. At least, with my thinking, that's what I came up with. What'd ya think? Could a small dog jump up 6 foot?
Well, I'll tell ya, I found out later who got him out, and you won't even believe who it was that helped Hobo outta there.
Until next time, Zeb out.
